Industrial Yarns P/L is a family owned company established in 1985. The original concept was to be a commission processor of industrial filament yarns, which proved to be very successful.

The evolution of the company started in 1993 with the acquisition of new twisting equipment, which opened up a new market for heavy Decitex yarns. Since then Industrial Yarns P/L has become a supplier of high tenacity polyester yarns for various end uses.

Industrial Yarns P/L is based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne in a 1000 square meter factory housing modern equipment to manufacture yarns for our Customers to use with confidence.

OUR HISTORY

We opened in 1985, as a commission processor of industrial filament yarns.

Having set up in Epping (in northern Melbourne), 1990 saw a move to much larger premises in nearby Campbellfield.

In 1993 our focus shifted to more heavy-duty yarns with the purchase of some new equipment.

Since then, we have become a market leader in high tenacity continuous filament polyester yarns.

The business kept growing, and so in 1996 we moved again to an even bigger site, still in Campbellfield. We’re still there, making the best quality yarns, threads and wicks for our customers.

In March 2004, we imported and installed new twisting and winding equipment from Europe, as part of an overall step to a more technological approach. This has greatly improved quality and efficiency, keeping us ahead of the rest – to our knowledge, no-one else in the Australia uses the same machines.
