At Industrial Yarns we produce a range of yarns that can be manufactured for your companies individual requirements.

 

Industrial Yarns can twist various yarns and combinations of yarns together. The main four yarns that we use in our manufacturing are; polyester, cotton, nylon and spun polyester. Twisting involves imparting a rotational action on the yarn to bundle the filaments and multiple ends of yarns together to produce a yarn that meets your specifications in breaking tenacity and shrinkage.

 

We can produce yarns ranging from 1100 to 66 000 Decitex, with twist levels from 50 to 300 turns per meter. See our yarn information table on our Specifications page for more details on the yarns we can produce. (Decitex is the weight, in grams, of 10,000m of yarn. For example, 10,000m of 1100 Decitex yarn would weigh 1100 grams.)

 

The twisted yarn is then wound onto a variety of packages to suit any machine. Winding is where we wrap a yarn of any description onto a cone or tube for delivery to our customers. Our cones and tubes are generally cardboard, with various traverse lengths to suit your application. Yarn traverse length can be (in mm) 100, 125, 150 200, or 250. The maximum weight for each Yarn/Traverse is shown in the table on our specifications page. The maximums may vary slightly depending on the actual yarn type.

 

HOSES

 

Industrial Yarns typically supply to a range of hose manufacturers nation wide. These include:

• Agricultural
• Automotive
• Fire
• Garden
• Mining
• Pressure

We can supply to both rubber and PVC manufacturers.

 

ROPES/BRAIDS

We can produce a range of yarns – up to 60 ends, with both S and Z twists.

Yarns must be in multiples of 1100 Decitex, up to 66 000.

Smallest size is 1100 Decitex – slightly smaller than a paper clip – while 66 000 Decitex is a tad thinner than a standard pencil.

 

WOVEN PRODUCTS

For any yarn that requires additional twisting or winding for further processing, such as Aramid and Rayon which are available as commission processed yarns Contact Industrial Yarns for a very reasonable quote.

 

INDUSTRIAL SEWING THREADS

We make sewing threads from either cotton or spun polyester – and in a range of plies. Those most commonly used include 6, 8, or 10 ply.

We supply:

• 180 or 240 Tex – used, for example, by stock feed manufacturers in sewing up their bags
• 600 Tex – used to sew up moccasin boots

 

CARPET YARN

We produce carpet yarn on a commission basis, where the customer desires colour combinations to be twisted together. Minimum orders are 500 kg.
